Mickey Mouse

I’ve been listening to the subtle ticks of my MM watch.

My body gave out on me today after working in the cold for several hours.

I came home, changed my clothes, threw off my watch and stretched out on the family love seat.

I tried watching “The Simpsons” but my eyes struggled to stay open.

I succumbed to my weariness and was dead to world. Well, at least my immediate world of a 20 foot radius.

In a daze as my stream of consciousness bewildered me as images flashed before me, all I could focus on was that ticking from my watch.

Tick, no tock.

It was strange, yet soothing. I never wanted it to end, but as the pressure on my temple got intolerable, I woke up.

I can still hear the subtle ticks.
