For Emergencies Only

For the past week, part of my family (my aunt and uncle, their kids, and my mother) has been camping down near Java, NY.

Tonight I get a phone call from my uncle’s cell phone. He never calls me.

I get worried that someone (namely my mother) is hurt.

I answer the phone and it’s my little cousin telling the “fireman” he needs to come and put out a fire.

After I got my mom on the line, I curse her for disrupting my sleep cycle and if she calls after 10 on a work night, someone better be injured or on the verge of death.

Of course now I can’t sleep.
